QSECDEF was built for the moment security leaders ran out of good independent advice. Post-quantum migration made that moment urgent: organisations are making cryptographic architecture decisions without practitioner context, under regulatory timelines that are tightening, in a vendor market with a clear commercial interest in the outcome. The same conditions now apply to AI Security. Governance frameworks are immature. Threat models are contested. The decisions being made now about AI Security architecture will be difficult to reverse.

These are not two separate problems. They are two current expressions of the same underlying reality: infrastructure-scale security decisions are being made without an independent practitioner layer to make them well. QSECDEF is that layer. In both domains.
