Refund Policy
1. Seven-day money-back guarantee
If you join QSECDEF and decide within seven days that membership is not the right fit, we refund your payment in full. No questions asked. No fine print.
The seven-day window starts on the day of payment.
2. Statutory cancellation rights — EU and UK
Customers in the European Union and the United Kingdom have a statutory right to cancel distance contracts within fourteen days, under:
- The EU Consumer Rights Directive (Directive 2011/83/EU), as transposed by each EU member state
- The UK Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013
EU and UK customers can therefore request a refund within fourteen days of the day of payment. This statutory right is honoured in full and operates in parallel with our commercial seven-day guarantee.
3. Who is covered
This policy applies to all paid memberships:
- Expert Member — $4,995 per year
- Corporate Member — $799 per year (starting at ten users)
Sponsor arrangements (QSECDEF Symposium 2027 and similar invitation-only commitments) are governed by individual sponsorship agreements and are not covered by this refund policy.
4. How to request a refund
Send an email to info@qsecdef.com with the subject line "REFUND REQUEST" within the applicable window — seven days (commercial guarantee) or fourteen days (EU and UK statutory) from the day of payment.
Please include:
- The email address used to join
- Your membership tier
- The date of payment
We process refunds to the original payment method within five working days of receipt. The funds typically appear in your account within two to five banking days, depending on your bank.
5. Refund rate
Less than one per cent of transactions result in a refund. We publish this figure openly as a customer-trust signal. The rate is reviewed quarterly as part of our compliance posture cycle.
We publish this number because the credibility of a money-back guarantee depends on customers being able to see how often it is actually used. A high refund rate would indicate a mismatch between expectations and the offering. A low rate, transparently published, is one of the better demonstrations a membership organisation can offer that the work being sold is the work being delivered.
6. What is not refundable
- Sponsor payments under separate sponsorship agreements
- Custom workshop or consulting engagements (governed by individual statements of work)
- Third-party event tickets purchased through QSECDEF — these are refundable per the event organiser's policy, not ours
