What membership is. What it is not.
What it is
- A learning platform with practitioner-led content, weekly webinars, and certificated courses.
- A professional community where members share the same room as senior practitioners.
- A signal to employers and clients that you have engaged with the field beyond your day job or coursework.
What it is not
- A recruitment agency or a job placement service.
- A guarantee of interviews, internships, contracts, or employment.
- An offer of work from QSECDEF or from any of its members.
Membership benefits in full
Engagements and credibility
Membership built for the engagements you actually run.
For consultants and advisors: clients are asking about PQC migration. If you cannot speak to it credibly, the engagement goes to someone who can. Membership gives you the standards, the vendor landscape, and the same network your competitors are using.
For fractional CISOs and CRO advisors: quantum risk has to enter the risk register this year. You need the language, the standards, and the comparators that hold up in a board meeting. Members get sustained access to the practitioners writing those documents.
For investors and analysts: cryptographic vendor evaluations, due diligence on quantum claims, portfolio risk assessment. The difference between a credible analysis and a wasted hour is access to people actually running these systems. Membership gives you that access.
For board members and NEDs: the audit committee question is being prepared. You need to know what good looks like before the board asks. Membership puts you in the room where the answer is being defined.
Your reputation is the differentiator. Stay sharper than the people you advise.
Independent consulting is a credibility business. Your day rate is paid because your clients believe you know more about the field than they do. In quantum, that gap is closing every quarter unless you have a structural reason to stay ahead. Membership is the structural reason.
Membership does not guarantee engagements. It closes the gap between informed advisor and current practitioner. That gap is where consultants lose retainers to people who joined the conversation earlier.
Network access
The people in this community are writing the standards your clients will be audited against.
QSECDEF works with practitioners across defence, telecoms, space, financial services, and government infrastructure. Members are the people building the standards your clients are about to be audited against. Consultant membership gives you direct access to that network through the forum, members-only events, and the Tuesday webinar programme.
Live Tuesday webinars with Q&A.
Every Tuesday, a practitioner presents on an active topic with a structured Q&A. Consultant members attend the same session as Expert members. The room includes people running live migration programmes. You can ask questions there, and take the answers back to your clients.
Content and intelligence
Full Expert lecture archive: practitioner sessions you can reference in client meetings.
The full lecture archive is available immediately on joining. Topics span PQC algorithm implementation, NIST standardisation timelines, quantum threat modelling for enterprise infrastructure, cryptographic agility frameworks, regulatory compliance for financial services and defence, quantum systems integration, quantum compute, and hybrid HPC. This is not introductory content.
New lecture invites, every week.
The newsletter covers speakers, industry news, events, Expert member coverage, and a regular update each Tuesday morning on the session.
Consultants have a dedicated member relationship manager.
Client billing

Common questions
Before you apply
Can I use QSECDEF materials with clients?
Yes. Members are licensed to reference QSECDEF research, frameworks, and tools in client work with attribution. Branded tool outputs (e.g. PQC Readiness Checklist results) can be shared with clients as part of an engagement.
Is there a referral programme?
Lifetime members are eligible for the Consultant Referral Programme: qualified leads from QSECDEF directed to members based on industry, geography, and availability. Details shared on activation.
Can my consultancy expense Lifetime?
Yes. A receipt is generated on payment. Lifetime is $999.99 as a single one-time payment, or choose Annual at $499 with one annual invoice, or Monthly at $49.99 card-billed each month. Most members expense it as professional development or a business intelligence subscription.
How is this different from joining as a Professional Member?
Consultant Membership includes the referral programme eligibility, expanded tools licensing for client use, and access to the consultant-specific forum threads. Professional Membership is for in-house practitioners; Consultant Membership is for those whose practice depends on selling quantum-era expertise.
Do I get speaking and contributor opportunities?
Active members are surfaced for QSECDEF speaking opportunities (Symposium, webinars, articles) based on relevance and availability. We do not guarantee placement; we do prioritise active contributors.
What are the certification fees?
Members can issue QSECDEF-branded training certificates to delegates they have personally trained. Per-certificate fees apply on top of membership. Members must first complete and pass the QSECDEF training they intend to deliver. Fee schedule provided on activation.
