About TU Delft
Delft University of Technology is the oldest and largest technical university in the Netherlands, a public legal entity under the Higher Education and Research Act. More than 26,000 students, 7,500 staff FTE and almost 40 technological and scientific disciplines produce over 4,600 publications a year, with locations in Delft, The Hague, Rotterdam and Amsterdam.
QuTech is the university's mission-driven research institute for quantum computing and quantum internet, founded in 2015 by TU Delft and TNO and awarded National Icon status by the Dutch government in 2014. More than 300 employees work across three divisions, Qubit Research, Quantum Internet and Quantum Computing, with engineering teams covering cryogenics, electronics, optics and software.
QuTech aims to develop scalable prototypes of a quantum computer and an inherently safe quantum internet. It collaborates with industry and academia, runs quantum computing and quantum internet demonstrators, educates students and professionals through QuTech Academy, and sits at the centre of the Delft quantum ecosystem, where more than ten spin-out companies employ over 500 quantum professionals.
