About RealRandom
Real Random turns physical motion into cryptographic-grade entropy. Dice tumble through viscous fluid inside patented hardware while high-speed cameras capture position, rotation and collision data, and continuous statistical validation checks every output before delivery. The invention started as a slot machine design that casinos rejected as too random; founder Doug Hill inherited the patent and developed it into working machines.
That entropy feeds encryption keys, digital signatures, authentication tokens and secure communications for organisations in defence, financial services, healthcare and critical infrastructure. It is delivered two ways: on-premises appliances that integrate with existing key management systems, or Entropy-as-a-Service through a REST API that applications call directly, with integration described as about four lines of code.
The company holds six US patents and 27 international patent rights, cites an independent evaluation by Rochester Institute of Technology, and was named a Gartner Cool Vendor in Data Security 2025. Real Random describes itself as the foundation beneath the cryptography you already trust rather than a replacement for it, and as a component ready for post-quantum standards.
