About Crypto4A Technologies
Crypto4A Technologies was founded in 2017 in Ottawa by the team behind the original Luna HSM at Chrysalis-ITS, SafeNet and Thales. They saw that traditional hardware security modules were not built to withstand quantum computing, and set out to build the world's first quantum-safe HSM from the ground up.
The result is the Qx family: QxHSM, a crypto-agile hardware security module; QxVault, a secrets management vault with the HSM built in; and QxEDGE, a platform combining HSM, compute, storage and security. All run on the QASM cryptographic module, validated to FIPS 140-3 Level 3 in August 2026, and support the NIST-standardised PQC algorithms ML-KEM, ML-DSA and SLH-DSA.
Products are engineered, manufactured and assembled in Canada and sold to governments, defence organisations and enterprises worldwide. The company works openly with standards bodies including NIST and IETF, keeps customers free of vendor lock-in through cryptographic portability, and offers transparent, all-inclusive pricing.
