Qblox, a Dutch company developing quantum control stack technology, has closed a $26 million Series A funding round. The investment was led by Quantonation and the Invest-NL Deep Tech fund, with additional participation from QDNL participations and the European Innovation Council (EIC). This is the company's first external equity investment.

The control stack is the layer of hardware and software that sits between a quantum processor and the classical systems used to operate it. It translates instructions into the precise signals required to manipulate qubits and read their states. As quantum computers grow in size and complexity, the demands on the control stack grow accordingly. Qblox's approach is modular and scalable, designed to keep pace with that growth without requiring wholesale replacement of existing infrastructure.

Niels Bultink, co-founder and CEO of Qblox, described the significance of the raise in the context of the company's trajectory. "It has always been clear to us that quantum technology should be seen as a value chain where we work with dedication on one crucial layer of the stack, currently serving over one hundred customers. Almost uniquely in the industry, this has allowed us to grow the company exponentially fueled by revenue rather than investments. With our first equity investment, we secure our long-term growth, positioning Qblox as the enabler for industrial-scale quantum systems."

The company's control solutions already serve more than 100 customers globally, across a range of quantum computing platforms. That installed base is notable. Most quantum hardware companies operate at pilot scale; Qblox's commercial traction suggests the control stack market is maturing ahead of the broader industry.

Oliver Tonneau, Partner at Quantonation, commented on the investment. "We have closely followed Qblox's impressive journey over the past four years. Their expertise in control stack development, and their unique modular and scalable technology make them a standout player in the field. We look forward to seeing the impact of this investment on their continued progress."

The Series A will fund expanded R&D, product development, and team growth. Longer term, Qblox's technology is positioned as foundational infrastructure for industrial-scale quantum systems, the layer that makes it possible for quantum processors to be deployed reliably outside specialist research environments.

The funding also reflects continued investor confidence in the European quantum ecosystem. Quantonation, Invest-NL, QDNL, and the EIC are among the most active backers of quantum technology development on the continent, and their collective participation signals broad institutional support for Qblox's approach.
